Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Action Plan

Statement

Excell Metal Spinning is closely monitoring the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. As the situation continues to change rapidly, our top priority remains the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and their families.

We are planning serval contingency scenarios and taking decisive, informed action to limit the spread of COVID-19 while ensuring the continuation of our services and production capabilities. Excell Metal Spinning remains open and operational with appropriate measures to protect the health of our employees. Our aim is to be transparent and clear in our communication.

We have taken the decision to postpone our annual factory shutdown that was due to take place from Friday April 10th to Monday April 20th.  Based on the information provided by the Government and what has been happening around the World, an annual shutdown at this time would not help our customers. Currently there is no planned date for the shutdown, in this period we usually carry out machine maintenance. We have assessed all our machinery are pleased to report that there are no issues to be resolved.

Preventative Measures

Excell Metal Spinning effective immediately will be asking the following measures are taken by our employees:

Ensuring Good Hygiene

The following measures are to be taken regarding personal hygiene.

Upon entering the factory facilities in the morning employees will be required to wash their hands

After each break period employees will be required to wash their hands.

The employee tea rooms will not be in operation to minimise groups. Employees will be asked to take their breaks at their workstations.

Employees will always be required to wear their PPE issues gloves when working and moving around the factory.

Employees have been issued anti-bacterial spray bottles and are encouraged to clean their workstation, surrounding surfaces, and door handles at regular intervals throughout the day.

Social Distancing

The layout of the factory at Excell has not required any physical changes to accommodate social distancing. Workstations are adequately distanced.

Employees will be required to keep a minimum distance of 2 meters from each other, unless a certain operation requires closer requirements. This will be kept to a minimum.

Employees will be required to reduce their movement around the factory to critical movements and to stay at their workstation as much as possible.

When parts require inspection, they will be taken to a designated area in the inspection area and left. Once inspected the Quality Inspected will move the parts to a second designated area to be collected.

Office staff have moved desks to accommodate a minimum 2.5m distance between desks and for office employees have relocated work areas to ensure each office has a maximum of 2 people working in the area.

Production meetings will continue weekly but will be taken in an online capacity using dedicated screen-sharing and communication software.

Administration employees are set up and ready to work remotely if required at a moment’s notice.

Visitors and Delivery Drivers

All external visitors to the factory have been postponed and the goods inwards area has had additional signage and barriers added. Delivery drivers will be asked to report to the front offices. The front office main entrance will be locked but instructions have been included in the signage as to how to make contact and notify employees of a delivery.

Our Aims

With the preventative measures in place we are aiming to reduce the risk of COVID-19 being spread through the factory if one of our employees has a confirmed case of the virus. Employees have been made aware of the steps to take if they feel that they are showing symptoms of the virus.

We will be sending out weekly email updates regarding our situation as any developments take place. We understand that as businesses we must come together to find sustainable solutions that ensure service continue and production of parts are not halted. As part of our solution we will be clear in our communication and if any additional measures need to be taken, we will work with you to tailor the solution as best as possible.
