“The Machine Shop Opening Is Long Overdue And Can Only Make Us Stronger”

-Neil Hunt, Co-Founder and Director

January has been a very busy but very proud time for the team here at Excell. The opening of Metamex has been an encouraging and uplifting process for the company.

As a company, we are extremely proud of the hard work that has been put in by the entire team. This moment was not just one to be shared within the Excell family, but we are immensely grateful for the support that we have received from our customers and other businesses within the manufacturing industry.

We envisioned as grand an opening as our business venture and what better way than to celebrate with a ribbon cutting ceremony. We were honoured to have Penny Mordaunt MP on site to officially open Metamex on January 24th. We wanted the pride and hard work we have devoted to this expansion to be recognized on a profound level. After a tour of the workshop, and demonstrations from our spinners, the whole team gathered for the ribbon cutting ceremony where Penny said – “I’m immensely proud of what they’ve done here, this is going to be incredible for jobs and local opportunities but also its really important to keep some of these traditional skills alive. We’re the best in the world as this sort of thing, I’m very proud that this company calls Portsmouth home.”

This new machine shop has potential to help not only us, but other local businesses, as well as grow the UK Manufacturing Industry and bring it all back home! We hope that the future will bring more moments that we can share with you and grow a bigger and better UK Manufacturing Community.

What Did You Think?

The opening of Metamex is bringing us one step closer to being as self-sufficient of an organization as we can be. With the importance that we feel this new venture holds for Excell, we use this time to reflect on the month, where we asked what you all think it means to be self-sufficient, and how much importance it holds in your decision-making process.

Wow! That is a machine and a half. So excited for you all, can't wait to read all about your new adventures #ukmfg
